Millistream Database Application (MDA) version 0.9.25 released
The Millistream MDA project team is pleased to announce the release of
version 0.9.25 of our open source application for updating SQL servers
with data from the Millistream Data Feed.
Changes since the previous version:
* The 32-bit Windows version now works on Vista/Win7/Win2008 systems
without Service Pack 1. This also means that it also works on
Windows 2000/2003/XP again. This was caused by changes to msado15.dll
by Microsoft in the Win7 SP1 which makes 32-bit software incompatible
with non Win7 SP1 systems, so for 32-bit Windows builds we now link
with the older version which is compatible with both SP1 and non SP1
* Added a new table: 'estimateshistory'. SQL scripts to add this table
is attached to this e-mail since MDA currently cannot add tables.
* The data types check that where introduced in v0.9.24 turned out to
be a big nuisance for some clients so this check will now only be
performed if MDA is invoked with "--check-types".
* If MDA was configured to add a new row for a cancelled trade, the
'canceltime' column was always set to NULL. The column will now
be set to the correct value (the time when the trade got cancelled).
* If a corrected trade message was distributed, MDA would add it as
a new row instead of updating the (possible) existing row. This
currently only affects the Chi-X market since it is the only market
that currently sends corrections for trades.
* It is now possible to import Millistream created SQL dump files with
the new option "--import". This new option support both uncompressed
and GZip compressed files (.gz).
We consider MDA 0.9.25 to be the best version of MDA available and we
recommend that users of older versions upgrade as soon as possible.
MDA 0.9.25 is available for download from the following locations:
Windows installer: ftp://millistream.com/binaries/windows/
Red Hat / CentOS: https://packages.millistream.com/rpm/
Debian / Ubuntu: https://packages.millistream.com/apt/
Source code: ftp://millistream.com/sources/
Linux users who have added our apt or yum repositories can upgrade by simply
issuing "apt-get update && apt-get upgrade" (Debian/Ubuntu) or
"yum upgrade" (Red Hat/CentOS).
Information on how to add these repositories are available at
In order to be standards compliant we have changed the package name of two
dependency libraries (hashit and mdf) to the more proper "libhashit" and
"libmdf" names. If you update via APT or YUM this should be handled
automatically. Also note that this is for the Linux version only.
And as usual, if you have any questions what so ever regarding this release
or other things, don't hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
